Program: Pavilion • Client: Estate Bleijendijk • Size: 300 m2 • Location: Vught,NL

The main concept was to assemble the design with the existing farm houses of the estate. The archetype farm house, with the typical roof, characterizes the area. Keeping this in mind and the sustainability and self-supporting, I turned the archetype farm house roof upside down. This way the roof becomes functional and part of the landscape.

The building is slightly rotated to the south with the entrance located to the west. The stairs have different spaces and step heights. This way people can sit in the sun or have a view over the lake. The interior space changes as the roof ascends and creates different areas where people can sit at tables or grow vegetables.
